Our Story
It Started as a Therapy Session
Not the kind with a couch and a copay. The kind with a golf cart, a bad lie, and a playing partner who's known you long enough to tell you the truth.
My buddy and I started playing together because we needed it. Not to compete. Not to post scores. Just to get outside, give each other grief, and spend a few hours away from everything that wasn't a fairway.
We were bad. We still are. And somewhere around the third hole of a round we had no business playing, we realized that being bad at golf might actually be the point.
Why This Exists
Golf has a reputation problem. It's seen as a game for scratch handicappers, country club memberships, and people who get genuinely upset about their score. That's not our league.
In our league, you shoot 117 and you laugh about it. You cheer your playing partner's good shots. You fix your divots. You don't throw clubs. You don't give unsolicited swing advice. And at the end of the round, you're already talking about when you're coming back.
That's what Bad Golf League is. It's the therapy session you didn't know you needed, wearing clothes that look better than your handicap.
Who We're Here For
I built this with specific people in mind. Veterans — because after everything you've given, you deserve a few hours on a fairway with nothing required of you but showing up. First responders, active duty, teachers — the people who spend their lives in service to everyone else. You deserve this too.
And every everyday golfer who ever felt like the game wasn't for them because they weren't good enough. It's for you. It was always for you.
Where We're Going
We're building local league play, course partnerships that give BGL members access to great courses without the country club price tag, and a community of people who understand that golf is better when you stop worrying about being good at it.
Whether you're shooting 72 or 127, you're welcome in this league.
